About Us

The Friends of the Carrollton Public Library is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting the library and raising funds to provide library needs beyond the normal library budget. We collect and sort donated books year round and host book sales twice a year.

Our Goals

  1. To promote the Carrollton Library as a cultural, educational and recreational asset of the community.
  2. To focus public attention on the library in order to stimulate the use of the library's resources.
  3. To encourage and receive gifts or bequests and raise funds to provide library needs beyond the normal library budget.
  4. To support the library, by providing volunteer services.

See our News page for a list of some of the projects and programs we've supported recently.

See our Bylaws for the rules governing our organization.

We need your support

In order to meet these goals we need your support.

  • Your donations of gently used books and media for our book sales are greatly appreciated. All proceeds from the book sales are used to support library programs.
  • When you select Friends of the Carrollton Public Library as a recipient of its community donation program, Kroger will donate a percentage of the sale when you shop there. Click here to learn how.
  • When you shop at Amazon.com, using the link at left, the Friends of the Carrollton Public Library benefits every time you make a purchase.

As a 501(c)3 organization, we are eligible for corporate and governmental grants and would like to work in concert with local businesses and organizations to:

  • Fund exhibits, cultural and educational displays
  • Fund additional services, such as databases
  • Furnish staff development grants
  • Conduct other fund raising activities
